Delete your account & data
LAST UPDATED · APR 18, 2026
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. There are two paths — both result in complete deletion within 7 days of confirmation.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest)
- Open Gratitude Lock.
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete my account.
- Confirm with your device biometrics.
- Your account is queued for deletion. A 7-day grace period runs before hard-delete; during that window a reversal link in the confirmation email can undo it.
Option 2 — From this site
If you no longer have the app installed, use the delete-my-data form to request deletion. We send a confirmation link to your account email; clicking it queues the 7-day-grace deletion. We will email you a confirmation when the hard-delete completes.
What gets deleted
- Your account email and any profile data.
- Your subscription record (you must cancel the subscription itself in App Store / Play Store first — see below).
- Any journal entries that were synced for AI reflection (these are normally deleted within 24 hours anyway).
- Backups in our systems are purged on the next rotation, within 7 days.
What is NOT deleted by us
- Journal entries stored only on your device — uninstalling the app removes them, or use Settings → Clear journal.
- Backups you have made yourself to iCloud or Google Drive — manage these in your cloud account.
- Your subscription — cancel in App Store (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Profile → Payments & subscriptions).
- Anonymous crash reports older than 90 days are auto-purged but contain no identifying data.
If you have a Plus subscription
Cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account before deleting, otherwise you may continue to be billed. Apple and Google control billing, not us — we cannot cancel on your behalf.
