A small team trying to give you a small, honest pause.
Gratitude Lock was built in 2025 in Amsterdam. It exists because we got tired of the apps that promised to free us also wanting our attention.
Why we built it
We tried every screen-time tool. The ones that worked best didn’t block — they slowed. So we built the smallest possible slow-down: write one specific thing you’re grateful for, then go. Most users tell us they end up putting the phone down anyway.
What we won’t do
- Sell your data. Ever.
- Add streaks that punish a missed day.
- Push notifications that pull you back in.
- Show ads inside the journal itself.
- Use dark patterns to keep you subscribed.
